Delhi cabinet may approve amnesty scheme for Rs. 85,000 cr unpaid VAT taxes

The Delhi government is set to consider a tax amnesty scheme to settle nearly ₹85,000 crore in pre-GST VAT dues owed by over 3 lakh traders. The scheme proposes waivers on penalties and interest, aiming to recover at least 50% of the dues while boosting revenue and reducing litigation.
